The index records can be searched by surname and forename of apprentice,
parent and master, county/country of parent's residence, year
of indenture (contract binding youth as apprentice to a master) and livery
company to which the master belonged.

Use only New Style dates when searching. The year in some abstracts appears
in both Old and New Style, eg. 1 Jan 1679/80.

| Father's occupation |
Father's occupation may be displayed in the search results. This field is not searchable, however, since (a) it is not always present, and (b) there is wide variability in the contents of the field. Its presence may be helpful for research purposes.
